Plague Marine Squad

I have been busy painting the first of my Plague Marine squads this week. I'm still not 100% sure what colour to paint their eyes.

Hellions Killing Guardsmen!

The DE bandwagon is one I said I wouldn't jump on. Well after reading the codex I took a running jump! Although much painting wont be done until the majority of my Chaos Space Marines are built and painted, I couldn't resist building this squad.

Scyrak The Slaughterer

When I saw the new FW Huron model I couldn't resist using his awesome lightning claw on a model. At the same time I bought it I also had a Lord Zufor model so I combined the two with a few extra bits to come up with a badass looking Khorne Terminator lord that I can use Abaddons rules for. After failing to think of a decent name for him I decided he would represent an equally badass World Eaters Lord called Scyrak The Slaughterer!

Plague Marine Test Scheme

I'm still about and I've been coming up with a scheme for my Plague Marines and Nurgle bikers. I have settled on this scheme:

This isn't the best photo but I will get better ones when I paint the squad up. The recipe for this paint scheme is very simple. I started with an undercoat of Skull White. When this wasy dry I applied a heavy wash of Game Color Sepia Ink. When that was dry I did the same with Game Color Dark Green Ink over the whole model apart from the boltgun. I wanted the tubing to look like maggots so they were painted with Bleached Bone. The metal was painted with Boltgun Metal and washed with Black Wash. It's as simple as that.

Bookmarks for your Black Library

I have started to read quite a few Black Library books recently and will soon start getting into the Horus Heresy series. The one thing I have been lacking is any decent bookmarks. I usually just use a piece of card but I thought i'd go for something nice. I thought it would be cool if I had some with the art of fantasy and 40k so I decided to make my own.

I started by finding a few images I like and then resized them to a reasonable bookmark size and printed them out.

For the reverse of the bookmarks I just found a random pattern but you could use other images if you have the time to line them up.

Then to protect the bookmarks I sent them through my laminator.

One they were laminated I cut them to size and there you have it. Some simple and very awesome looking bookmarks for your black library books.
